- 2024 Round Up
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday 23rd January 6pm at Fairfield School. Come along to find out more about our plans or get involved.
This year we have continued to work away moving towards making a bike/skate facility a reality. We have had some really positive meetings with Cumberland Council and Town Council reps, we used material produced by @ CfLP ProjX, @Tetratech, @Geoenvironmental engineering, @Cockermouth School and @Fairfield Primary to support and this was very well received. Significantly we now have formal confirmation from Cumberland Council that they support the use of their land for a facility, if suitable, and they will continue to actively support its development, installation and future management.
This is an important step forward as it means that we can now engage with contractors to review potential sites and have some concept designs put together to use as part of the next phase of community consultation on the viable options. We will need to apply for some funding to support this initial work but we are already well on the way thanks to @Cockermouth Rotary and everyone who contributed to last years online giving page.
We would really like to thank everyone who continues to follow and support this project and especially with technical and financial inputs. We aren’t there yet but we are keeping rolling forward. We are always open to new volunteers or ideas of funding sources so please join us at our next meeting or get in touch.
Happy Christmas and don’t forget to ask Santa for a Bike/Skate park for Cockermouth 🎅🏼 - Support Our Campaign
